2020年1月，我第一次到纽约时，在自由女神像旁拍下了这张曼哈顿摩天大楼的照片，那时我已经决定专攻这个领域快两年了。因为曼哈顿图里的代表每个snp的小点组成的图案酷似曼哈顿的天际线，所以才称之为曼哈顿图。请看那成群飞过的鸟儿，说不定那就是你在曼哈顿图里要找的“显著SNP”。

Standing beside the Statue of Liberty, I took this photo of skyscrapers and birds of downtown Manhattan back in January, 2020 when I visited New York City for the very first time, almost two years after I decided to pursue my research career in this field. The dots representing each SNP on chromosomes resemble the skyline of downtown Manhattan after which the chromosome-minus-log(p) plot for visualization of SNV association result was named. Oh, please look at those birds flying over the waters. They definitely were some significant hits for this real ‘Manhattan plot’ !
